How To Set Up The Facebook/Instagram/Meta Pixel On A Shopify Website/Store.

 

  1. Go to your Facebook Ads Manager account and click on the “Pixels” tab in the left-hand menu.
  2. Click the green “Create a Pixel” button.
  3. Enter a name for your pixel and select “Manually Install the Code Yourself.”
  4. Choose “Shopify” as your platform and click “Continue.”
  5. In another tab or window, log in to your Shopify account.
  6. From the Shopify dashboard, click on “Online Store” and select “Preferences.”
  7. Scroll down to the “Facebook Pixel” section and paste your pixel ID into the box labled “Facebook Pixel ID.”
  8. Check the box that says “Automatically add the Facebook Pixel to your online store” to ensure that the pixel is installed on all pages of your website.
  9. Click “Save” to apply the changes.
  10. Go back to the Facebook Ads Manager tab and click “Continue” to confirm that the pixel is installed.
  11. Once the pixel is confirmed, select “Set up the events you want to track” and choose the events that you want to track on your website. These could include add to cart, purchase, or any other custom events you want to track.
  12. Add the relevant event codes to your website’s code. Shopify provides an option to add your pixel ID and event codes in the “Additional Scripts” section under “Preferences.”
  13. Once you have added the event codes, go back to the Facebook Ads Manager tab and click “Done.”
  14. Verify that your pixel is working correctly by visiting your website and checking for pixel fires in the Facebook Ads Manager.
