How To Set Up Your Google Ads Remarketing Tracking On Your WordPress or Shopify Website
For WordPress:
- Install Google Tag Manager: Install and activate the Google Tag Manager plugin on your WordPress website.
- Create a Google Ads remarketing tag: In Google Tag Manager, create a new tag and select “Google Ads Remarketing” as the tag type.
- Configure the tag: Configure the tag by adding your Google Ads conversion ID and remarketing tag ID.
- Set up triggers: Set up triggers to fire the tag on specific pages of your website, such as your homepage, product pages, or cart page.
- Publish the tag: Once you have configured the tag and triggers, publish the tag to make it live on your website.
For Shopify:
- Go to Google Ads: Log in to your Google Ads account and go to the “Audience Manager” section.
- Create a remarketing tag: Create a new remarketing tag by selecting “Website traffic” as the source of your audience.
- Copy the tag code: Copy the tag code provided by Google Ads.
- Install the Google Ads tag on your Shopify website: In your Shopify account, go to “Online Store” and click on “Themes.” Select “Edit Code” and paste the Google Ads tag code in the header section of your theme.

- Set up your campaign: Set up your campaign settings such as budget, bid strategy, ad format, and targeting options.
- Create your ads: Create your ads and launch your campaign.
