How To Set Up Your Google Ads Remarketing Tracking On Your WordPress or Shopify Website

 

For WordPress:

  1. Install Google Tag Manager: Install and activate the Google Tag Manager plugin on your WordPress website.
  2. Create a Google Ads remarketing tag: In Google Tag Manager, create a new tag and select “Google Ads Remarketing” as the tag type.
  3. Configure the tag: Configure the tag by adding your Google Ads conversion ID and remarketing tag ID.
  4. Set up triggers: Set up triggers to fire the tag on specific pages of your website, such as your homepage, product pages, or cart page.
  5. Publish the tag: Once you have configured the tag and triggers, publish the tag to make it live on your website.

For Shopify:

  1. Go to Google Ads: Log in to your Google Ads account and go to the “Audience Manager” section.
  2. Create a remarketing tag: Create a new remarketing tag by selecting “Website traffic” as the source of your audience.
  3. Copy the tag code: Copy the tag code provided by Google Ads.
  4. Install the Google Ads tag on your Shopify website: In your Shopify account, go to “Online Store” and click on “Themes.” Select “Edit Code” and paste the Google Ads tag code in the header section of your theme.
  5. Verify the tag: Verify that the tag is working properly by going to the “Google Ads” section of your Shopify account and checking the tag status.
  6. Create a remarketing audience: Once the tag is verified, create a remarketing audience based on website visitors who have visited specific pages of your website.
  7. Create a remarketing campaign: Create a new remarketing campaign in Google Ads and select your newly created audience as the target.
  8. Set up your campaign: Set up your campaign settings such as budget, bid strategy, ad format, and targeting options.
  9. Create your ads: Create your ads and launch your campaign.
