How To Add Google Tag Manager To Your WordPress Website

 

Step 1: Create a Google Tag Manager Account and Container

  • Sign up for a Google Tag Manager account if you don’t already have one.
  • Create a new container for your WordPress website.

Step 2: Install and Activate the Google Tag Manager Plugin

  • In your WordPress dashboard, go to the “Plugins” section and click on “Add New”.
  • Search for “Google Tag Manager” and select the “Duracelltomi Google Tag Manager” plugin.
  • Install and activate the plugin.

Step 3: Configure the Google Tag Manager Plugin

  • Go to the “Settings” section of the Google Tag Manager plugin in your WordPress dashboard.
  • Enter your Google Tag Manager container ID in the “Container ID” field.
  • Select the “Enable Data Layer” option.
  • Click on “Save Changes”.

Step 4: Add the Google Tag Manager Code to Your WordPress Website

  • In your Google Tag Manager account, click on “Admin” and then “Install Google Tag Manager”.
  • Copy the code snippet that is provided.
  • In your WordPress dashboard, go to “Appearance” and then “Editor”.
  • Select “header.php” and paste the Google Tag Manager code snippet just before the closing “</head>” tag.
  • Save the changes.

Step 5: Test Your Google Tag Manager Setup

  • Go to your WordPress website and view the page source code.
  • Verify that the Google Tag Manager code is present in the header of your website.
  • Go to your Google Tag Manager account and preview the container to verify that data is being tracked correctly.
